When asked about what it is I am passionate about, I will surely answer with sports (biking), music (listen all day, every day), gadgets (phones, head phones, tablets), and writing. That last one is something I really love to do. I don’t consider myself to be the best writer, but I like to share my thoughts openly.
Maybe I am more a traditional blogger than anything else. I love to share what I have learned or heard recently. I want to shed light on recent events and talk about whatever my twisted brain comes up with. It is kind of therapeutic even. There are a few activities that help me shut out the outside world completely; maybe that is why writing and blogging especially are activities that I love to do so much.
Next year I want to kick it up a notch
I have never really tried to write a book, nor have I tried to keep up a rhythm of regular writing. It is something that I would like to try out, though. Not for the sake of putting out more content, but to practice my writing skills, get better and I simply really enjoy it.
On a number of occasions, I have stopped myself from getting into a good writing cadence. I felt that I didn’t truly have a purpose with my writing; that I would need to have something to say for it to be meaningful. But, the more I write, the more I see that I enjoy the process of writing, as much as the output.
But maybe it does not have to be meaningful at all. This is one of my most beloved ways of communicating. And that is enough.
Maybe some of these words will mean something to others, maybe I will even manage to bring out a whole book filled with random thoughts and ideas; a collection of my life’s “work”.
A promise to myself, write more
In the next few weeks, I will put out a piece of content every single day. If I have the energy and discipline to write two or three articles on a certain day, I will allow myself to schedule the posts in the days to come.
The ultimate goal is to create 365 content pieces for my personal and work (GANDT) website, in 2021.
The sheer number of content pieces scares me, though. I have no idea how I will be able to keep up a rhythm of daily blogging for that long. There are very few things that I have managed to do every single day for an entire year.
But it does not matter. I feel that I owe it to myself to give it a go. I want to see how far I can get. I want to figure out what my writing voice is, whom I would like to address and how I can add value to the world through my writing.
Words are a part of me, and I have to learn to use them more accurately, wisely and frequently. So my new year’s resolution comes a little bit early this year: I promise myself to create 365 content pieces in the year to come. And you will be coming along for the ride.
Stay safe and have a great holiday season with your loved ones.
Update January 19: As you will have noticed by now, I have not been posting exclusively to my personal www.livain.com blog. This makes it a little hard to track my progress, but I am setting up a Notion database, which you will be able to subscribe to when it‘s finished. Bare with me for a little longer. You might be surprised how far I have actually gotten already.
